There I was.....on a sunny afternoon....

There I was, on a sunny Saturday afternoon sitting in a super cottage during a neighborhood Open House, and one of our visitors commented on our fridge magnets! Andrew, a colleague in our firm, brought a some stick-on magnets from Florida for our business cards, which neatly converted the cards into very collectible fridge (refrigerator) magnets. This inspired me to write as it would be fun to find out just where our business cards turn up around the world. Here is a copy which you may want to print out. Take a photo of it stick on your refrigerator - with a copy of the front page of your local newspaper to identify the area - wing the photo back to our site (don't forget your postal address!) - we will send you a real fridge magnet for your fridge – what fun!....it will be really interesting to see just where our blog is read..

I suspect we will be surprised…

Open houses are a great way to meet locals who are looking for property and it is an oportunity to make a real connection with our clients and potential buyers. We work hard to ensure that all our clients are treated in a professional and personable manner – we consider this to be very important in all our dealings.

For those investors who choose to invest their hard earned cash in property here in Turks and Caicos, you can be assured that your property is safe and secure. As a British Overseas Territory, all property titles are underpinned by British Common Law, and the formal registration process is secure. The Government is investing in a new electronic registration version of the system, very similar to the one in the Cayman Islands, (another British Territory). We have excellent lawyers, architects and banks who are keen to ensure that your investment is processed correctly. It is good to know that property will always be a secure investment .....and talking of tax, there is no income tax, inheritance tax, property tax etc…. the only tax on property is an initial Stamp Duty, and until the end of March, it is has been reduced from 9,75% to 6..% - this is a great saving.

So, do send in any photos and do check out the site associated with this blog. There are a number of motivated sellers at the moment, so it is a good time to take that step, and enjoy the benefits of investing in this wonderful island.

New York New York so good they had to name it twice

New York, New York so good they had to name it twice

New York really is one of my favourite cities to visit and after thirty years of traveling there and our son recently living there, we still find so much to see and do.We love the shopping, the people, the reasonably priced everything and the ease of getting around on the subway.

This is especially welcomed after the relaxed quiet pace of Turks and Caicos where we live most of the time.I know those living in cities and doing that commute think what is she thinking?

For those of you that are asking that, may I ask why you are not booking to come over here and experience this yourself?

The Turks and Caicos during the winter months are particularly alluring as the sunshine and cooling breezes make you feel good to be alive. Away from the doom and gloom of the real world, you can take time to reevaluate your life and consider changes to make this short life really count.
It is surprising how easy the thinking is when one is away from the pressures of time management and responsibilities associated with every day life.

Turks and Caicos is a good place to invest where property taxes are non existent, foreigners are welcomed, life is simple, fun and where all nationalities come together for happy hour and to share their interesting and varied backgrounds which never cease to amaze. We all ended up here from all different walks of life and via so many convoluted routes.

That aside, those who have chosen to invest in property or land are doing well, especially when they sell and all proceeds after legal fees are straight into the seller's pocket.

The choice of what to buy is mind boggling. Do you buy a condominium on Grace Bay Beach? A little cottage on a canal? A mansion on Floridian style canals? A piece of hilltop land? A villa with its own beach to rent out to vacationers? A brand two storey townhome? A little resort business?

The possibilities are endless and we at Anchor Realty are all about matching your dreams and aspirations to that perfect property . We can access all property for sale across the islands and are only too happy to meet with you and help with your decisions.

The weather is perfect just now..lots of sun, warm evenings and slight breezes with little humidity.

Book the flight and come on down. Its that easy.

A warm welcome awaits you, coupled with a chilled margarita if you time it right!

A wonderful set of photos - Turks and Caicos under the waves....

I got really excited the other day to find out that our neighbor is a very keen underwater photographer and has a stack of fantastic photos in stock. He let me put them on our computers and I thought I would put a couple here on this blob to show you some of the extraordinary colours and images that can be found here. Mathew, runs a small specialist dive/concierge company called Cactus Voyager which is located in Coral Gardens, where our office is located. (We MUST have the best office in the world!)....You may want to check out his website and find out more. Mathew is lucky enough to have many returning visitors each year - a great testament to the wonderful time that they have enjoyed. What really amazes me is that these wonderful photos are literally a stones throw away from the beach and we are SO lucky to have this natural resource at our fingertips. The reef for snorkelling is only a few yards off the beach, and this is quite a unique feature. We usually have glass like sea conditions which is great for snorkelling and diving activities. I'm going to run a photo gallery on our website to show off more of these photos.... this is what it is about... Turks and Caicos really has got it all!

A great new listing - Land in Middle Caicos - away from it all....

A super new listing came our way this morning... undeveloped land in Middle Caicos, and two of the plots are 100 ft beachfront!.....
Middle Caicos is very different to Providenciales, and this land is location REALLY away from it all. On our site, check out this blog page which shows some photos of the island when we went over to mark up a couple of other listings. We had such a great day. The location of Eastwind is simply stunning. The photo on the left, from Google of course, shows the location to the beach. Plots on the beach cost $395.000, which is well under half of similar land plots in Providenciales, which are begin more and more of a rarity. Plots set back from the beach start at $129.000 - excellent value. This is a great opportunity to reserve you piece of paradise, and build that dream home at some time in the future. The developer is prepared to offer finance and each sale will be tailored to the needs of the individual buyer. Check out our site on this linkwhere the location becomes a little clearer. More to come.

Just another Sunday on the beach...

We had a great day on the beach this weekend when there was the third annual kite boarding competition organised locally called "Windvibes". This was a super day and it was much fun to watch this new sport to Provo. Just could not refuse the opportunity to take some photos as there was much colour in the lovely kites. I am really tempted to put the word "Caribbeanhomefinder" on a sail, as it would be super promotion for our efforts here. Friends met and simply enjoyed the sun and we were able to relax whilst others did all the work! I am really tempted to go out and learn, and there is no shortage of teachers here for this new sport. This sport is fast developing here, as there are fabulous beaches and constant breezes. Very tempting. We have a new neighbor from New York who works in the finance industry on Wall Street who comes down just for a week and really enjoys his time. He takes the direct early morning flight from Kennedy (7.00hrs with American) and can be on the water by 1.00pm! This direct flight makes the Turks and Caicos really accessible for a long weekend. It certainly beats those cold wintery days in the city.
AND just had to add this to this blog.. just been to see a fabulous new commercial development here in Providenciales.. really excited about the prospect of helping out...it would make a great call centre, small bank admin, or this sort of IT application....its a very classy unit and is in a great position, views to die for .. and of course, taking advantage of our tax free status.... so.... once I have sorted out the web links....I'll write again with links.. in the meatime, do call. via the website..... as it would be worth a look for those businesses that would like to exit overseas or run an office in the Caribbean....
